Everton: Carlo Ancelotti tells Real Madrid chiefs to sign Jarrad Branthwaite in transfer twist
Carlo Ancelotti has urged Real Madrid chiefs to sign Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite after being wowed by the defender at Goodison Park, according to HITC.
The news outlet reported on 12 March that Madrid have been keeping close tabs on the defender’s progress this season after he established himself as a regular under Sean Dyche.
It is also said that Madrid officials watched Branthwaite during the 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford at the request of Ancelotti who managed him during his spell in the Premier League.
After a game against Aston Villa in 2020, the coach told Everton’s official website: “I am really happy with him, he is really young, a kid. But he showed quality, personality and character.
“He is really calm with the ball, really comfortable, and really aggressive without the ball. He can be a fantastic player for us.”

This is not the first time the European giants have been credited with an interest in the 21-year-old, with his performances attracting attention from all over Europe, and his links with Ancelotti proving the driving force of the deal.
It has also been reported that Manchester United view the defender as their top target and new owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe will look to bring him to Old Trafford regardless of ongoing speculation about the future of Erik ten Hag.
With a fee upwards of £70million mooted by HITC, it would take some serious money to pry Branthwaite away from Goodison Park in a deal which could prove beneficial to the club’s ongoing financial situation.
However, BBC journalist Luke Edwards [9 January] shared that his value could exceed £100million after his breakthrough season in the Premier League, establishing himself as one of the most sought-after defenders in the country if not Europe.
