Everton: Dan Ashworth pushing Manchester United move for £75m Jarrad Branthwaite
Manchester United want to sign Jarrad Branthwaite from Everton this summer as Dan Ashworth is pushing the deal, according to Football Transfers.
The Toffees are reportedly preparing to lose the 21-year-old defender this summer with top clubs circling, and Branthwaite has emerged this season as one of the club’s biggest assets.
Manchester United are said to be most keen on a deal and a move is being driven by incoming director of football Ashworth, with Everton expected to accept a deal worth £65m plus add-ons to take it up to £75m.
“Dan Ashworth is pushing a deal for Jarrad Branthwaite to join Manchester United, FootballTransfers can reveal,” they wrote.
“We are told now that Man Utd are heavily involved in getting a deal over the line for the summer.
“Sources inform us that Everton will demand £75million for the centre-back, though there is an idea that an initial £65m will be enough, as well as add-ons.”
Everton have the best youngster in the country in Jarrad Branthwaite
There are several top youngsters in England right now including the likes of Bukayo Saka, Phil Foden and then Jude Bellingham abroad.
But when it comes to defenders there is nobody as good as Jarrad Branthwaite coming through, and Everton were smart enough to tie him down to a long-term contract this season.
That means when it comes to his future it’s the Toffees who are in complete control of the price and situation, so if Manchester United want him then they will need to please them with their offer.

Everton were in a similar position with John Stones several years ago and he went for £50m to the other side of Manchester, and has since gone on to become one of the best defenders of his generation.
While £75m all-in may seem high for Branthwaite after just two seasons of first-team football, it could look like a bargain in the near future.
