Sean Dyche makes promise to Everton as they jet out amid ’embarrassing’ situation

Sean Dyche has promised that his Everton squad will be in for a tough week after jetting out to Portugal for warm-weather training, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper reported on its website on Tuesday (12 March) that the Toffees boss has organised the bonding trip in a bid to turn their season around, with their next game not until 30 March away at Bournemouth.

It added that the Blues are just one game away from equalling the “embarrassing” club record of going 12 matches without a win in the Premier League, which dates back to the 1994-95 season under Mike Walker at Goodison Park.

Everton must turn form around in relegation fight

It certainly isn’t a record that Dyche will want to achieve at Everton after their form has been pretty shocking since the turn of the year.

While players are often keen to get back out on the pitch and put things right after a defeat, a few weeks off could be the perfect tonic to help them reset and iron out some of their issues.

It was a disappointing performance against Manchester United on Saturday (9 March), where the hosts scored two penalties to secure a 2-0 victory.

The turnaround in form during this calendar year will be a concern for the Toffees boss after they had put in a number of solid displays in the first half of the season.

He will know there is still more than enough quality in his squad to get out of trouble, but they must find a way to start winning games again in their fight against relegation at Goodison.
