Everton: Idrissa Gueye spotted in first-team training in new Sean Dyche fitness boost

Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye has been spotted in training during the Toffees’ training camp in Portugal, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The outlet shared via its website on Wednesday (13 March) an image of the Senegalese midfielder arriving at training and making his way off of the team bus with both Abdoulaye Doucoure and Amadou Onana.

Gueye has not featured for Sean Dyche’s side since their 1-1 draw with Brighton on 24 February, when he was substituted after 49 minutes in place of Onana having picked up an injury against the Seagulls.

Everton aren’t in action in the Premier League again until after the March international break, when they’ll face Bournemouth on Saturday 30 March and the Toffees will hope Gueye comes through the next few weeks to be ready to start on the South Coast.

Will Idrissa Geueye be fit to start for Everton against Bournemouth?

It is going to be an incredibly tense final few weeks of the Premier League season for Dyche and his side as the Toffees attempt to dodge relegation into the Championship across the remaining 10 matches.

The pressure is on, especially with a potential second point deduction looming over Goodison Park. Everton need to get back to winning ways and they have to do it quickly if they want to avoid coasting into the second tier.

Sean Dyche is preparing for what could be another challenging season for Everton

Having Dyche’s best players fit and available could be key between now and the end of the season and Gueye is one of those stars. When fit, the 34-year-old starts week in and week out at Goodison Park, the only challenge for the Toffees will be keeping him on the pitch.

Hopefully, the extended rest and extra training camp in Portugal will provide Gueye with ample time to complete his recovery so he is fit and ready to attack the run-in with the Toffees. This gap in fixtures could have come at the perfect time for Dyche.
