Everton: £70m Jarrad Branthwaite sale mooted as Manchester United transfer prediction made

Everton ace Jarrad Branthwaite would be a “decent asset” to Manchester United, but he may not lead their defence.

That is according to former Goodison Park scout Bryan King, who believes the defender could cost £70million.

The centre-back has impressed this season, with his displays generating strong links with Premier League giants Manchester United.

When asked if Branthwaite is good enough to make the step up to Manchester United, King told Goodison News: “Yeah. I think he can certainly be brought on, because although they beat Everton, it wasn’t exactly a stunning performance from Manchester United, and they’ve still got problems at the back.

“I don’t know about leading the backline there, but he’d certainly be a decent asset to them. There haven’t been that many Everton players who have moved from Everton to Manchester United. The biggest one of course was Wayne Rooney, which was massive.”

“Branthwaite is decent, he isn’t top drawer. He’s had to be a standout. I suppose Branthwaite, at today’s prices, will probably cost about £60million or £70million.”

Will Manchester United make a move for Everton ace Jarrad Branthwaite?

There has been plenty of talk regarding Branthwaite and Manchester United, but nothing concrete has emerged thus far.

The links are, however, unsurprising, given both his displays this season and indeed Manchester United’s issues at the back.

The Red Devils certainly got a close look at the young defender when the two clubs recently went head to head, with Manchester United running out 2-0 winners at Old Trafford.

Everton Jarrad Branthwaite
Everton are willing to sell other players before letting go of Jarrad Branthwaite.

Losing Branthwaite this summer would be a real blow for Sean Dyche, although his sale could generate a huge fee, which would definitely help Everton’s ongoing financial issues.
