Everton: Fresh 777 Partners takeover concern emerges as Premier League set to make decision

New concerns surrounding the 777 Partners takeover of Everton have emerged as the group still owes money for the purchase of Standard Liege to the former owner, according to Sacha Tavolieri.

The RMC Sport journalist reported via his personal X account [16 March] that former owner Bruno Venanzi will now look for ways to recoup the money still owed to him by 777.

With the Premier League set to make their final decision on whether the takeover will be approved next week, yet another concern piling on the ever-growing list will do them no favours.

777 Partners concerns grow as Premier League decision now set

Yet again, the constant stream of negative stories surrounding 777 will raise concerns about their suitability to complete their takeover of Everton, and will be doing no favours to the ongoing owners and directors checks from the Premier League.

Several of the other 777-owned clubs have held protests during games, separate lawsuits against the club have been ongoing since takeover talks began, and issues surrounding the source of their funding, are just three concerns surrounding the group.

This latest issue piled on top of those, as well as plenty of others which have been left unmentioned, points towards the decision being a negative one as far as 777 are concerned – but that decision remains in the hands of the Premier League.

A negative outcome in terms of the takeover will be what many pundits and supporters, including the likes of Simon Jordan and Martin Calladine, have been calling for, but whether alternative bidders arrive as a result is another question entirely.
