Everton: Jeff Stelling reacts to ‘bonkers’ PSR situation live on talkSPORT

Jeff Stelling has described the Everton and Nottingham Forest profit and sustainability situation as “bonkers” in his latest verdict against the Premier League.

The legendary broadcaster questioned whether an appeal against the upcoming verdicts would be inevitable, which would then take the decision beyond the end of the season.

This comes amid the expectation that Forest will hear the outcome of their charge imminently, with Everton’s second charge next on the list of discussions.

Speaking live on talkSPORT [07:58], Stelling questioned: “Do you think it’s inevitable after what’s happened to Everton that, if they [Forest and Everton] are handed points deductions, they will appeal, which would mean no verdict before the end of the season?

“It’s bonkers isn’t it, there’s no doubt about that.”

Jeff Stelling hits out at ‘bonkers’ Premier League-Everton case

This is not the first time Stelling has expressed his confusion at the possibility that the PSR cases against Nottingham Forest and Everton, and the points deductions that could come with those, may not be finalised until after the season has ended.

Given the urgency and seriousness both decisions will carry, it is important that they take their time, but for the decisions to happen after the final games have been played would be ridiculous.

The legendary broadcaster has been extremely vocal and scathing in his criticism of the Premier League since Everton were first charged, labelling the decisions “absolute madness” as a result of the upheaval it has caused at the club.

With the Premier League relegation battle getting tighter by the day, the final outcome could be decided by points deductions, and if they come after the last day of the season, there will likely be huge backlash towards the decisions.
