Everton hearing could be in days in brand new Kaveh Solhekol update on Sky Sports

Everton will have their hearing for their second Premier League financial charge this week or next week.

That is according to Sky Sports News chief reporter Kaveh Solhekol, with the Toffees having already been deducted six points for financial breaches this season.

That was reduced from 10 points following an appeal, with the Goodison Park club facing another points deduction with their second charge.

“There will now be a new three-person panel who will hear Everton’s second charge,” said Solhekol, as per Sky Sports. “The Premier League never give any information about when these hearings are. That is totally confidential.

“But my understanding is that the Nottingham Forest case was going to be dealt with first and then we are going to have the second Everton case dealt with.

“It’s very likely that the Everton hearing is going to be this week or next week and we should know the decision from that independent panel in the next two or three weeks.”

Everton will be eager to hear verdict after Nottingham Forest decision

The Toffees were extremely upset with the Premier League after they were charged and punished for financial breaches earlier this season, with a lot of the anger coming amid a lack of punishment towards other clubs.

But now Nottingham Forest have joined them in being sanctioned, with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side docked four points for their breaches.

They have dropped into the Premier League relegation zone following the decision, which is, of course, good news for the Toffees, with their chances of staying in the top-flight now boosted.

But by no means are they safe, with the Merseyside outfit sitting in 16th place, just four points outside the bottom three.

And it is only going to get worse behind the scenes amid the impending second charge, with plenty of pressure on Sean Dyche and his players to get the job done on the pitch.

Sean Dyche’s Everton side have faced plenty of challenges both on and off the pitch this season.

It has been a simply disastrous 2024 for the club so far, with Everton now having to wait until the end of the month to put more points on the board when they travel to Bournemouth.
