Everton: Richard Keys shares punishment update after Manchester City disgrace
Everton are facing another punishment after breaking the Premier League’s financial rules, according to Richard Keys.
The Toffees were deducted 10 points earlier this season for breaching the rules, although that has been reduced to six following an appeal.
The Goodison Park club have a second charge and potential points deduction hanging over them, but Keys has raged at the lack of attention towards a potential Manchester City breach.
“Everton broke the rules and have now accepted their punishment,” Keys wrote on X. “But there’s more to come.
“The ongoing disgrace is that City haven’t been dealt with – but that’s at Government level so we’ll have to wait – forever it seems.”
Everton fans are right to be angry at the Premier League
Toffees fans have protested plenty of times at the Premier League this season, before, during and after matches.
Such protests come amid supposed unfair treatment of the Merseyside club, who were punished for their breaches, while other clubs were seemingly left alone.
But now that has changed, with Nottingham Forest having been docked four points for their Premier League breaches, with the punishment seeing the club drop into the relegation zone.
But the Toffees could soon join them given how they were charged at the same time as Forest, in what was the former’s second charge of the season.
It remains to be seen what punishment will be handed out, with the hearing taking place shortly, but given the points deductions already handed out this season, another one seems very likely.

And that leaves the Goodison Park faithful in a nervous wait regarding their Premier League future, with relegation undoubtedly on the cards if any form of points deduction goes their way.
