Everton: Jordan Pickford gushes over ‘Rolls-Royce’ Jarrad Branthwaite after England call-up
Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite has been a “Rolls-Royce” this season, according to teammate Jordan Pickford.
The Toffees goalkeeper shared the verdict after the centre-back was called up to the England squad for the first time.
The Three Lions will take on Brazil and Belgium in friendly clashes this month, with both matches taking place at Wembley.
“He’s been really good, a bit of a Rolls-Royce,” Pickford said, as per Football Daily. “He’s calm and makes the right decisions, he’s been quality this season and it will be a massive honour for him and his family to get called up for England. It’s fully deserved.”

England manager Gareth Southgate has plenty of big decisions to make as Euro 2024 rapidly approaches, in what is a tournament that the Three Lions are definitely in contention to win.
Up next in their preparation for the major tournament is exciting clashes with Brazil and Belgium, with both matches representing fantastic opportunities for players to impress Southgate.
The manager will undoubtedly have a large chunk of his final squad already sorted, with Everton star Pickford definitely on that list.
But his Goodison Park teammate Branthwaite won’t be, with the youngster having tough competition in central defence.
Having shone with Everton and the England Under-21s in recent times, the defender may now just get his first taste of senior international action.
And given his displays for the Toffees this season, he looks more than capable of performing well for the Three Lions, even against high quality opposition such as Brazil and Belgium.
