Everton: Steven Caulker gushes over Jarrad Branthwaite as England verdict shared on talkSPORT
Everton ace Jarrad Branthwaite has “done really well” this season, according to talkSPORT pundit Steven Caulker.
The former Premier League defender added that he hopes the Goodison Park star will be handed his England debut this month.
Branthwaite has been included in Gareth Southgate’s current squad for the friendly clashes with Brazil and Belgium, with the former up first on Saturday (23 March).
“In terms of this evening, I would like to see Jarrad given an opportunity,” Caulker said on talkSPORT. “I think he’s done really well at Everton this season.
“He’s a young player coming through, and I would like to see him get an opportunity, if not tonight then hopefully in the next game.”

Branthwaite has had a superb season at Goodison Park, having been eased into the senior setup by Sean Dyche after spending the previous campaign at PSV.
He still has a long way to go, but recent displays suggest that he is more than capable of shining at international level.
Whether he makes the final Euro 2024 squad, however, remains to be seen, but he should be in line for minutes this month.
The Three Lions face Brazil and Belgium in preparation for this summer’s major tournament, with Southgate set to use the matches as opportunities to have a look at players who have not secured a place in the final squad.
The man in the dugout has, of course, not yet revealed his Euro 2024 squad, but there will be a long list of players who he will have already decided to take with him.
Toffees ace Jordan Pickford is undoubtedly on that list, but his Goodison Park teammate Branthwaite won’t be, with the defender eagerly awaiting his international debut first.
