Everton former employee speculates Bramley-Moore Dock ‘fear’ as new images emerge
Everton may “fear” fans watching matches on TV as opposed to going to their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.
That is according to former Toffees scout Bryan King, who believes ticket prices there will be more expensive than at Goodison Park.
The verdict comes after new images emerged of the club’s new stadium, with the Toffees set to make the switch there in the near future.
Speaking to Goodison News, King said: “I get an update every month. It’s looking very good. Goodison Park is one of the most iconic football grounds in the country, the World Cup was played there.
“The new ground is obviously larger, so it will accommodate more people, but then who is going to enjoy it? Are they going to be playing in the Championship next season, or the Premier League? Hopefully for Everton it’s in the Premier League, because it’s a ground that warrants a Premier League place.
“It’s going to be a stadium that holds between 50,000 and 60,000, and anything is going to be an improvement now on Goodison Park. The only thing that has to be worked on is the atmosphere.
“It certainly looks the part from the pictures. It looks a new stadium for sure, and it looks as though it is a stadium which has been brought to the 21st century. But I still can’t understand how the major clubs can’t accommodate like the big stadiums in America do. The American football stadiums, a lot of them have been rebuilt, and they really do put the emphasis on hospitality and comfort.
“Of course the price of the seats are going to be a lot different to what they are at Goodison Park, that’s for sure. Have a look at Tottenham, or the Emirates, it’s a lot of money.
“With so much football on TV, sometimes it’s easier for people to watch it on TV rather than make the effort to go to the stadiums. That’s got to be a fear, it’s going to be far cheaper having the networks that show the Premier League than it will be to actually go to a Premier League or Championship club and buy a season ticket.”
Will Everton be a Championship club by the time they leave Goodison Park?
Goodison Park has been a fantastic host for Everton matches for some time now, with fans of the club certain to miss it when the move takes place.
Remarkably, however, the new stadium could coincide with a potential relegation from the Premier League.

Playing Championship matches at Bramley-Moore Dock will not be what the Toffees had in mind when first announcing they were leaving their beloved home on Merseyside.
