Everton transfers: Development emerges as contact made for Brahian Palacios
Everton have made contact in order to try and secure the services of Brahian Palacios and Alisson Santana, per the Atletico Mineiro president Sergio Coelho.
Coehlo, in an interview with Radio Itatiaia, as transcribed by Versus on 24 March, confirmed that the Toffees touched base with Fernando, the head of scouting at CIGA, Galo Information Center.
However, no official proposal has been sent yet to the Brazilian club over the two players.
Coelho said: “A representative from Everton, in England, spoke to Fernando, head of scouting at CIGA, who are monitoring strikers Alisson and Brahian Palacios.”
Everton starting the summer transfer moves in March
Palacios is a 21-year-old right winger who is also capable of playing on the left.
Santana, the 18-year-old, recently made his debut for the Brazilian side and is still relatively a fringe player.
The pursuit of Palacios and Santana suggests that the Toffees are focusing on acquiring young talents with long-term potential rather than immediate impact for the first team.
At 21 and 18 years old respectively, Palacios and Santana fit the profile of players who could be developed through the academy system.
This transfer move indicates a strategy aimed at building for the future rather than addressing immediate needs in the starting lineup.

While both players may have promising qualities, their age and lack of extensive first-team exposure suggest that the Toffees see them as investments for the future rather than immediate solutions to on-field challenges.
In other Everton news, there is pressure mounting as the Toffees’ financial future is in doubt amid a fresh takeover twist.
