Ally McCoist slams Everton and Premier League amid PSR claim live on talkSPORT

Ally McCoist has slammed both Everton and the Premier League live on talkSPORT as he bemoaned the uncertainty the profit and sustainability cases have caused.

The Rangers legend insisted that both Everton and Nottingham Forest deserve to be punished after breaking the rules, but questioned the consistency of those punishments.

He also questioned how the decisions have been made so quickly for certain clubs while others are still yet to be dealt with by the Premier League.

Speaking live on talkSPORT [26 March, 07:11], McCoist shared: “I mean, what he’s arguing is that the punishment doesn’t fit the crime.

“I just think the whole uncertainty about what level of crime and what level of punishment should be carried out. It’s beyond me. You get clubs that are dealt with almost immediately and other clubs that aren’t dealt with.

“I think it’s the lack of consistency again. But the rules are there to be adhered to, and if you break them you deserve to be punished.”

Both Everton and Nottingham Forest have been given points deductions this season, with the Toffees possibly set to face a second one, while Leicester City are also facing the prospect if they are promoted into the league next season.

This has caused plenty of uncertainty towards the bottom of the Premier League table, with the likes of Luton and Brentford also caught up in it as they will not know where they stand until the deductions are finalised.

Everton could be handed yet another points deduction as a result of their latest charge, with news to arrive in the coming weeks, although they will put forward a strong argument against given their previous deduction earlier this season.

Everton boss Sean Dyche
Sean Dyche’s Everton side have faced plenty of challenges both on and off the pitch this season.

If Forest’s four-point deduction is replicated, it will see Sean Dyche’s team go back to their initial ten points off, although it has become apparent that the hearings are taken case-by-case and therefore difficult to predict.
