Everton: Che Adams transfer news emerges amid PSR uncertainty with Wolves keen
Everton could miss out as Wolves want to sign Southampton striker Che Adams this summer amid uncertainty over points deductions, according to the Telegraph.
The newspaper reported via its website on 26 March that Wolves are leading the race to sign the striker as a free agent ahead of relegation-threatened clubs.
Both Everton and Nottingham Forest have been interested in Adams, but PSR issues are creating uncertainty around their position in the Premier League.
Wolves could beat Everton to Che Adams transfer
Adams was heavily linked with a move to Goodison Park as well as Molineux throughout last summer’s transfer window, but neither side was able to land their key target, with Everton opting to sign Beto in his place.
However, the Scotsman has since scored ten goals and provided three assists in 30 Championship appearances for Southampton, and his availability as a free transfer makes him a highly sought-after prospect.
Given the struggles of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Beto at Goodison Park this season, sharing just four Premier League games between them, a new striker could be listed among the priorities for Everton and Sean Dyche once the transfer window opens.
Adams may not have the most eye-catching goalscoring record, but his Premier League experience and availability with no outgoing cost could be what temps Dyche to make a move for a different type of striker to both Calvert-Lewin and Beto.
