Everton: Jim White shares what Josh Wander told him about 777 Partners takeover in new update

Jim White has revealed that 777 Partners chief Josh Wander has told him he remains confident that their takeover of Everton will be granted approval by the Premier League.

The American investment firm agreed on a deal to acquire Farhad Moshiri’s controlling stake in the Toffees, but roughly six months later they are still yet to be granted approval by the Premier League to complete their acquisition.

While some have suggested that 777 Partners haven’t submitted the documents required to pass the tests of the league, Wander has insisted that he remains certain the Miami-based company will be approved.

Speaking on talkSPORT on Tuesday (26 March, 11:40) White said: “I caught up with Josh Wander of 777 Partners the other day and he was brief but he answered me. What’s the latest?”

Wander replied saying: “I can’t tell them anything yet because the Premier League has suggested that we don’t litigate this in public. It’s prudent for us not to speak, but once the deal is complete, then I’ll speak to you.”

White asked: “Are you confident it will be approved?”

Wander responded: “I am.”

Will 777 Partners complete their takeover of Everton this season?

This current saga with 777 Partners has been rumbling on for far too long at Goodison Park and Everton needs it to quickly reach its conclusion as it has proven to be hugely damaging for Sean Dyche’s side off of the pitch.

The Toffees boss has admitted that his players have been distracted by off-the-field speculation involving both their point deductions and their takeover and it is ridiculous that players and supporters have had to wait this long for answers on both fronts.

Whether or not 777 Partners are the ideal new owners for the Toffees remains to be seen and plenty has been written about both their firm and Wander, but they cannot be much worse than the current regime in charge on Merseyside.

Hopefully, Wander’s confidence won’t have been misplaced and the Premier League will reach a decision sooner rather than later, so everyone surrounding Everton can finally receive some clarity on this subject.
