Everton: Sky Sports share brand new update with Nottingham Forest appeal

Everton will likely be named in Nottingham Forest’s appeal against the four-point deduction from the Premier League for their profit and sustainability breach, according to Sky Sports.

The sports news outlet reported via its website on 26 March that Forest’s losses of £95.5million were much smaller than Everton’s £124.5million which is likely to be presented to the panel.

However, it is also said that Forest’s lawyers are slightly optimistic in thinking they could see the four points reduced when compared to Everton’s six.

What will happen with Nottingham Forest and Everton points deductions?

Forest’s appeal in front of the independent panel will take place at some point in the next three weeks, running alongside Everton’s second profit and sustainability hearing which is also expected to take place in that time frame.

Finance expert Stefan Borson recently explained that Forest’s penalty was less than the one handed to the Toffees as a result of a base deduction of six points for the former and five for the latter.

Everton were handed an extra point for providing misleading information, while Forest were given mitigation for their cooperation which saw two points knocked off.

Whether the appeal process is positive in Forest’s favour is yet to be seen, but the layers at Goodison Park will likely be paying close attention ahead of their own potential appeal should they face another points deduction.

With the potential takeover by 777 Partners also ongoing at Goodison Park, it has been shared by one source close to the company that they are unlikely to receive a decision from the Premier League before the PSR case has been heard.
