Everton new points deduction to be confirmed within days as Premier League deadline emerges
Everton are set to have their new point deduction confirmed within days after a new Premier League deadline emerged at Goodison Park, according to i News.
The outlet reported on its website on Wednesday (27 March) that the independent commission’s verdict on the Toffees’ second profit and sustainability breach could come as early as next week at Goodison Park.
A deadline of 8 April has been set for a decision to be made as the league looks to fast-track cases involving both Sean Dyche’s side and Nottingham Forest as they look to appeal against their four-point deduction.
Will Everton be hit with a second point deduction and be relegated from the Premier League?
Everton have been surrounded by uncertainty throughout the season so far and most of it has come off of the pitch where they have been hit with point deductions and constant delays over 777 Partners’ takeover at Goodison Park.
However, supporters can take some ease over the fact the Premier League have already set a deadline to try and get the Toffees’ punishment sorted as soon as possible so these big decisions aren’t made after the Premier League season ends.
There has been hope that any punishment handed to Dyche’s side will be more sensible than the initial 10-point penalty that the Toffees received for their first initial breach, but no one is still quite sure what to expect at Goodison Park.
Hopefully, some sort of clarity will emerge in the coming days as the report has suggested, that way, the Blues will have plenty of time to secure their place in the Premier League for another season and decide whether they want to appeal against their punishment.
