Everton injury news: Doctor issues Idrissa Gueye update
Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye may not be ready for the Bournemouth clash on 30 March, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that he failed a fitness test ahead of the Manchester United clash on 9 March.
He is battling a calf injury that has kept him out of action since the end of February and he still remains a doubt.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Gueye:
“He failed a fitness test earlier in March which saw him play no part v Manchester United.
“Failing a late fitness test typically means the calf did not respond the way the physios are comfortable enough with following training.
“That could be soreness, could be discomfort, pain, movement changes, etc.
“He may still not be ready for the weekend unless there is an update from the club stating he’s trained without any issues.“
Gueye’s injury a big blow for Everton
The 34-year-old has played 18 Premier League games this season and has been a regular pick for Sean Dyche.
The Toffees boss has used James Garner and Amadou Onana as the double pivot in midfield in Gueye’s absence.

It remains to be seen once he’s back to full fitness whether or not he’s thrown back into the eleven or given minutes off the bench.
In other Everton news, the Toffees have already made contact to sign two players in the summer transfer window.
