Everton: Manchester United go ‘All In’ for Jarrad Branthwaite transfer amid Newcastle interest
Manchester United are set to go “all in” to sign Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite this summer amid interest from Man City and Newcastle, according to Football Transfers.
Writing on their website (28 March), the news outlet report that several top Premier League clubs want to sign the 21-year-old central defender after his impressive performances this season.
Everton are likely to demand around £75m to allow Branthwaite to leave this summer due to their financial situation, although an initial payment of £65m could convince them, and the Red Devils are set to make their move to get ahead of the competition for his signature as they plan a squad rebuild.
Everton don’t need a saga this summer
The last thing that Everton want to go through this summer is a long and dragged out saga, because they are already going to be way behind on plans for the season.
As it stands the club don’t know who will own the club at that point, and they don’t know what division they will be playing in either.
That obviously plays a big part in what the club will be able to do during the summer transfer window, both when it comes to incoming deals and also what they can demand for outgoing transfers.

But once those things are known, and the club are in the driving seat for negotiations, they need to make a decision and come to a conclusion quickly. A deadline must be set, to ensure that the team and Sean Dyche aren’t left playing catch up.
In an ideal world Branthwaite will stay at Goodison Park for the 2024/25 season and Everton will find another way to raise funds, strengthen the squad and keep their best players. But it seems unlikely at this stage.
