Everton want to sign Genoa and Belgium ace Koni De Winter, 777 Partners links could pay off
Everton have joined Wolves in the hunt to sign Genoa and Belgium centre-back Koni De Winter, according to Tuttomercatoweb.
The Italian outlet reported on Wednesday (27 March) that the 21-year-old, who can also play at right-back, is attracting Premier League interest.
De Winter’s club form was rewarded with a first senior international cap for Belgium in their 0-0 draw with Republic of Ireland last week.
Who is Everton target Koni De Winter?
Everton were previously linked with the versatile defender last summer, so his name may sound familiar to some supporters.
De Winter was on Juventus’s books back then, which he technically still is while on loan with fellow Serie A side Genoa.
However, the deal that saw Genoa sign him last summer contains a clause that will see them purchase him permanently this coming summer.
The fee was reported at the time to be in the region of €8million (£6.8m), which it goes without saying is in Everton’s price range.

It is interesting to note that 777 Partners, who are looking to complete a takeover at Everton, also have a backing in Genoa.
That could well play a part in any negotiations, as murky a topic as it may be.
De Winter is clearly a very talented player, even if Juve felt otherwise, and this is a deal that seems to tick so many boxes.
