Everton: Dominic Calvert-Lewin must be taken off v Bournemouth

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has not played up to expectations in the first half of the Everton v Bournemouth clash on 30 March.

He even had a chance to find the back of the net in the 30th minute at the Vitality Stadium but did not do enough with that strike.

Sean Dyche may look to bring him off for Beto who may be able to offer something different in the second half.

Calvert-Lewin’s statistics paint a grim picture of his contribution to the game with him completing just five passes out of nine attempts indicating a lack of involvement in Everton’s build-up play.

With only one shot on goal, he has failed to threaten Bournemouth’s defence effectively.

Furthermore, Calvert-Lewin’s inability to complete any dribbles, coupled with a zero per cent success rate, per Sofascore, highlights his struggles to bypass opponents and create attacking opportunities.

Losing 60 per cent of his aerial duels and half of his ground duels illustrates his ineffectiveness in winning crucial battles in both the air and on the ground.

Being caught offside twice further accentuates his lack of awareness and timing in exploiting Bournemouth’s defensive line.

Considering these shortcomings, a substitution for Beto, who may offer a fresh approach and greater attacking impetus, seems necessary for the Toffees to rejuvenate their frontline and enhance their chances of securing a positive result in the second half.

In other Everton news, the Toffees have already made contact to sign two players in the summer transfer window.
