Everton: Premier League commitment made as reason for lack of response to FAB emerges
The Premier League has committed to replying to the Everton Fan Advisory Board (FAB) after a delay in receiving their original letter, according to the supporters’ organisation.
The FAB posted the responses on Twitter (29 March) received from both Farhad Moshiri and Josh Wander after writing to both earlier in the week, but explained the lack of a reply from the Premier League was down to technical issues hindering the original letter being sent.
The Premier League has still yet to rule on 777 Partners’ proposed takeover a full 28 weeks after a deal was agreed with Moshiri, and have been in opposition to the club on two profit and sustainability charges resulting in one points deduction and potential second still to come.
The FAB wrote: “We have received responses to 2 of the 3 letters we sent on Monday. Our letter to the PL was delayed due to technical issues on our side.
“The PL has committed to replying next week. We will comment on all 3 responses more fully once we have received and digested them all.”
Premier League response on Everton situations incoming
In light of the chaos that the club has been repeatedly thrown into with regards to spending breaches this season the level of trust in Richard Masters and his office isn’t exactly sky high among Evertonians.
On this occasion clearly there is no fault on their end for not replying in line with Moshiri and Wander, although it is the content of the response rather than the timing which will be more important.
Similarly, the recent development which saw a letter from the league emerge “minded” to grant conditional approval for the takeover seemingly shifted the responsibility for the delay away from the league and onto 777 Partners.
Neither the American firm nor Moshiri have provided any specific insight as to how the conditions will be met this long after the agreement was originally announced, or anything in terms of contingency plans should approval not be granted.
Clearly Everton need answers though since continuing in perpetuity with the current majority shareholder having ended his funding of the club despite still being in charge, and the prospective new owners pumping millions in through loans without knowing if they will complete the process, is simply not sustainable.
But whether the league authorities will provide any more actual clarity in their letter than Wander or Moshiri have is still perhaps in doubt as the FAB awaits the final response of three.
In other Everton news, a rival bidder is awaiting judgment on 777 to step into the fray with an attempt to replace them as prospective new owners.
