Everton claim shot down by Jamie O’Hara live on talkSPORT after what happened v Bournemouth
Jamie O’Hara shot down an Everton supporter live on talkSPORT who suggested the Toffees were “unlucky” in their 2-1 loss to Bournemouth.
The Toffees fell to a dramatic defeat at the Vitality Stadium in Saturday’s (30 March) Premier League contest to remain deep in relegation trouble.
The caller in question, named “Tom”, said Seamus Coleman was unfortunate to put into his own net for Bournemouth’s late winner.
However, O’Hara responded [30 March, 5:56pm]: “You say unlucky. The three players involved needed to deal with it.
“Come on, you’re Premier League players. That can’t end up in the back of the net, it can’t.”
Everton suffer late defeat at Bournemouth
Everton did well to battle back and set themselves on course for a point that most would have taken at that late stage.
However, shortly after levelling through Beto’s close-range finish, Coleman converted past Jordan Pickford in a moment to forget.
The cross into the box from the right-hand side was nothing special and there were four Everton players – not three – there to deal with it.
Dominic Solanke was lurking, but quite why no visiting player just cleared it away is a mystery.

It means that the ball bounced awkwardly, hit Coleman and trickled into the net in what could be a huge moment in the season.
That has nothing to do with luck, but more so terrible defending. Coleman will receive most of the criticism, but he was not alone.
Everton have struggled for goals for the majority of the campaign, and if their defence now lets them down then relegation is a certainty.
