Phil McNulty blasts what Everton players have done after loss v Bournemouth, ‘Terrible’
Phil McNulty has blasted the Everton squad after they have now gone 12 games without recording a Premier League victory.
Writing on his Twitter page on Saturday (30 March), the BBC Sport journalist said the run the Toffees have been on over the past few months has been “terrible” following their 2-1 defeat against Bournemouth.
He added that the Blues, who suffered late heartbreak courtesy of a Seamus Coleman own goal on the south coast, can’t claim their winless run has come as a case of their performances not being rewarded as they continue to fight for survival this season.
Everton must buck up their ideas after Bournemouth defeat
It’s been a frustrating past few months for Everton as they simply can’t get things going in the Premier League after suffering yet another defeat.
After going behind to a Dominic Solanke opener in the second half, Beto thought he’d rescued a point for his side before Coleman put through his own net in injury time.
While some may suggest that’s simply bad luck, you have to make your own luck in the Premier League and the Toffees aren’t doing enough right now.
Sean Dyche will no doubt be concerned by this poor run of form, which stretches all the way back to their victory against Burnley on 16 December.
The Blues now find themselves very much in a relegation scrap again and will have to buck up their ideas if they want to be playing in the top flight next season.
In other Everton news, Jeff Stelling has mooted a £45million exit for one Toffees star.
