Everton fears shared by Martin Calladine as 777 Partners news emerges today
Financial expert Martin Calladine says it “astounds” him that anyone believes 777 Partners are fit to run Everton.
The author of ‘Fit and Proper People’ was responding on his personal X account [1 April] to the latest claims made against 777.
The Financial Times reported on Monday (1 April) that US regulators are demanding A-Cap related businesses cut their exposure to the investment fund.
Calladine posted: “Moshiri and 777 insist without proof that everything is okay, while dozens of verifiable events suggest everything is not, so ultimately who’s to say if 777 are fit to take control of one of the world’s most historic football clubs.”
When it was put to Calladine by The Esk that 777 are “not fit” to run the club, he responded: “And it astounds me that anyone could believe otherwise.
“Going back six or more months, anyone I know who’s looked at them immediately came to the same conclusion. So much time wasted for Everton.”
777 Partners awaiting Everton takeover news
Everton’s latest financial accounts show just how bad a position the club find themselves in right now.
There is a real desperation for the takeover to go through, which has been the case for half a year and more now.
While getting Farhad Moshiri out of the club remains top of many supporters’ agendas, there are almighty concerns over 777 Partners.
Seemingly every day there is a new story outlining fresh concerns. These cannot simply be brushed off as scaremongering.
What is being reported is legitimate and backed up by facts. 777 simply are not in a position to run Everton Football Club.
The obvious concern is what it means for Everton if the takeover collapses. And the honest and rather worrying answer is that nobody knows.
If nothing else, at least we will now very soon whether 777 has been successful or not with the takeover attempt.
In other Everton news, Jamie O’Hara shot down a Toffees supporter for what he said following the loss to Bournemouth.
