Everton: Ally McCoist and Alan Brazil share new Liverpool verdict live on talkSPORT
Ally McCoist and Alan Brazil have insisted the Merseyside Derby clash between Everton and Liverpool later this month could be a fascinating watch.
The duo were impressed by how hard Sean Dyche’s side worked in the 1-1 draw against Newcastle, leading to a claim that anything could happen when they face Liverpool.
The game at Goodison Park has been rearranged for 24 April, just five games before the end of the season, so a result either way could be crucial for the teams in the run-in.
Speaking live on talkSPORT [3 April, 07:35], Brazil shared: “Everton fought, didn’t they? So Everton-Liverpool is fascinating in the run-in.”
McCoist shared his view, saying: “They always do [fight], I think that’s always a guarantee with Everton, and it’s a derby game so anything could happen.”

With Everton in a relegation battle and Liverpool in a title race, you’d be forgiven for thinking the result was a foregone conclusion, but with pressure beginning to mount on both teams, a shock result could be on the cards.
Dyche’s side have pulled off some impressive results this season despite their 13-game winless run, with the latest point earned at St James Park another example of how they can stay in games and give themselves a chance to take points.
Draws with Brighton and Tottenham in recent weeks were also displays of that ability to grind out results and could prove crucial in the relegation battle with just four points separating the Toffees from Luton in the bottom three.

With another PSR verdict looming, uncertainty is the buzzword at Goodison Park, but that should be out of the way by the time the Merseyside derby arrives, and if they can secure a shock result, it could haul them out of trouble.
