Everton: Danny Murphy shares Sean Dyche sack verdict in relegation admission live on talkSPORT

Everton have the right manager in Sean Dyche and will dodge relegation this season, despite their record winless run in the Premier League, according to Danny Murphy.

The Toffees extended their run without a win in the Premier League to 13 matches with a 1-1 draw against Newcastle on Tuesday (2 April) with Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s penalty salvaging a point for the Blues.

While many pundits and supporters are suggesting relegation now may be a real possibility at Goodison Park, talkSPORT pundit Murphy insists Everton will dodge the drop and believes Dyche doesn’t deserve the sack.

Speaking on talkSPORT on Wednesday (3 April, 10:08) he said: “Watching Everton as many times as I have, I haven’t seen a team low on energy or desire. I’ve just seen a team that struggles to create and score goals.

“Not many of those players don’t go out for Dychey every week and not give him everything. I’ll tell you my view on it and I think the majority of Everton fans I know, they like Dyche and they understand he’s working with one hand tied behind his back.

“The reality is, Dychey’s been there with Burnley in this kind of predicament on the periphery of the relegation zone quite a lot. I don’t think you’d want anyone else, because he never gets too high and he never gets too low.

“I think they’ll be okay.”

Will Everton sack Sean Dyche and be relegated from the Premier League?

Pressure has been mounting on Everton and Dyche throughout the season as the Toffees tread closer and closer to the relegation zone, but that doesn’t mean that Dyche deserves the sack, especially given off-the-field issues at Goodison.

With 777 Partners’ ongoing takeover, potential point deductions and fan unrest, the Everton boss has barely had any time to entirely focus on matters on the pitch and has instead been dealing with new distractions with each passing week.

The recent run of form in the Premier League has been nowhere near good enough and it could ultimately prove to be costly, but there has been enough positivity in those performances to suggest the Toffees can turn it around.

Hopefully, Murphy is correct and Dyche is the man for the job, but should the wait for a win rumble on much longer you wouldn’t be surprised to see those in charge at Goodison make a change in the dugout.
