Everton-linked Samuel Iling-Junior to be sold by Juventus as £13m fire sale update emerges
Everton are said to be one of many Premier League sides interested in signing Juventus starlet Samuel Iling-Junior for a cut-price fee, according to SportsLens.
There is a need for some creativity at Goodison Park especially given that they have only scored 31 goals in 30 Premier League games.
On top of this, with Financial Fair Play concerns potentially piling up finding some bargain transfers could be integral.
With that being said, rumours have arisen from Tutto Juve which have now been added to by additional reports.
Dean Jones of Sportslens UK has said: “Juventus are contemplating a summer of change at the end of the season, which could include Samuel Iling-Junior, Federico Chiesa and Weston McKennie, while Adrien Rabiot could yet leave on a free transfer.
“Iling-Junior is most likely to depart, with Brighton, Everton, Newcastle and Tottenham all expected to be in the running to sign him. The England under-21 international, who came through Chelsea’s youth ranks, is expected to leave for as little as £13million.”
This could leave the door open for Sean Dyche to step in and pick up a player with great potential for a positive price.
Should Everton sign Samuel Iling-Junior?
Given the level of team that are showing an interest in Iling-Junior, it goes to show the quality he could add to The Toffees.
The Englishman does only have one goal and two assists this campaign although he has made just two starts for The Old Lady [FotMob].
Playing mainly as a wingback in Serie A, he has very positive attacking stats in limited minutes in the past year. According to Fbref, he creates 3.27 shot-creating actions, 8.96 progressive passes and 2.95 tackles per 90.
These stats are inflated by a lack of minutes but still point towards a positive trajectory for the 20-year-old.
As a potential winger, he comes with plenty of pace and a positive mindset. In a Dyche system, he could be well-suited due to the defensive ability he has developed by playing as a wingback.
Some youthful inexperience could help add an additional flare to a lacklustre Everton front line in the future.
