Everton players could turn on Sean Dyche after what Dominic King heard at Goodison Park
Dominic King has insisted some of the players at Everton are not to be trusted, hinting they could soon turn on Sean Dyche.
The Daily Mail journalist revealed that he had heard whispers around the club similar to what happened before Frank Lampard, Rafa Benitez, Ronald Koeman and Sam Allardyce were dismissed from their roles.
King shared that certain players, who were not named, deflect criticism towards the manager – which is the case now after a 13-game winless run which has cast pressure on Dyche’s job.
Speaking on the It’s All Kicking Off podcast [4 April], King shared: “I’ve seen signs in the last couple of months, and I’ve heard things, that just suggest to me that there’s a pattern developing.
“The same happened under Frank, under Rafa, under Allardyce and Koeman. Even under Ancelotti. Those players can’t be trusted at times. A lot of those players can’t be trusted.
“They’ve looked for excuses, they’ve looked to apportion blame elsewhere when things start to go wrong. It was Frank’s fault for this, Rafa’s fault for that.
“I’ve heard whispers around the place of them not being happy with things. When are they actually going to be happy with someone?
“There’s more than enough talent in that dressing room not to have gone 13 games without winning. I think that run is an absolute disgrace to the fans everywhere around the country. It’s an absolute joke.
“I’ll be clear, I’m not saying it’s the squad as a whole because I know some of the characters within that squad and they will be absolutely aghast with what’s gone on, but I’m suspicious of a couple.”
Everton players under scrutiny after winless run
All players and the boss at Goodison Park have come under renewed scrutiny after the spotlight was pointed at their recent struggles, but the new suggestion that some of the players could turn on Dyche would be a huge moment.
With the relegation battle tightly contested and Everton well and truly in trouble, they need to start picking up points soon, and pressure is beginning to grow over Dyche’s job if he struggles to find those points from somewhere.
Upcoming games against fellow struggling teams towards the bottom of the league will be crucial, and while fans may look to those as winnable games, it has to be considered that their opponents will think the same.

With another PSR verdict looming and a possible second points deduction at Goodison Park, the teams down the bottom will be keeping a close eye on the situation which could make the difference in the relegation battle.
