Everton: Ian Wright takes Harry Potter swipe at Burnley star after what Dominic Calvert-Lewin did
Ian Wright was left baffled by Arijanet Muric as his mistake allowed Dominic Calvert-Lewin to score the Everton winner v Burnley.
It was the Toffees’ first win after a 13-game winless streak, which signified a huge sigh of relief for Sean Dyche and the Goodison faithful.
The winning goal came courtesy of Calvert-Lewin who grabbed his second goal in two games. It came in bizarre circumstances.
The Burnley keeper, Muric took too long and smashed the ball against the Englishman and the ball rebounded into the net.
This took everyone by surprise including Wright who was speaking about the moment on Match of the Day (7 April).
On that, he said: “You’re just hoping for his sake, you know, he can get that run of fitness. He’s somebody that when he’s playing, he gives you everything in respect of a striker.
“When you look at Muric, it’s like he can’t see Dominic Calvert Lewin, it’s like he’s got Harry Potter’s invisible coat on. How come he’s not seen him there?”
Could Dominic Calvert-Lewin now kick on for Everton?
It has been a tough time for the Everton striker in recent seasons with injuries playing their part in his match availability.
This season he has only managed 21 starts out of a possible 31 games and has scored just five goals in the Premier League this season [FotMob].

Since breaking into the first team at Goodison Park the most goals he has registered in a season has been 22 in 2020/21. Following that, he has only managed to score 13 combined goals in the next three seasons.
It must be said that in that time he has played just 66 games which just sums up the issues he has suffered with injury.
After getting on the scoresheet in back-to-back games, there is hope that he can take some form forward and have a positive end to the campaign.
If he can remain injury-free, under Dyche, there is no reason why Calvert-Lewin can not get back to his goalscoring best. That is a big if however.
