Everton: Ian Wright destroys Farhad Moshiri as news emerges from Goodison Park

Ian Wright has slammed Farhad Moshiri for his mismanagement behind the scenes which has led to Everton receiving back-to-back point deductions.

The Toffees were handed a further two-point penalty for PSR breaches, ensuring that they will be docked eight points in total.

The club announced, via their official website on 8 April, that they will be appealing the decision.

Speaking on the Kelly and Wrighty Show, Wright said (8 April, 2:54pm): “I don’t know what an appeal will do. They should get on with it. Focus on their season.

“If they’ve been found guilty of breaching, I don’t think there should be an appeal. You’ve got it wrong.

“The mismanagement of that football club for long, it shouldn’t be the fans suffering. Give owners the bloody hell. Something more is got to be done. Moshiri, no one is saying anything about him.”

Moshiri deserves to be slammed but an appeal matters for Everton

Wright’s criticism of Moshiri’s mismanagement at Goodison Park is valid, as the club’s repeated breaches of Premier League rules have left them facing severe repercussions.

However, despite the frustration, pursuing an appeal is essential for Everton’s survival hopes.

The club’s history shows that appeals can yield positive outcomes; their previous deduction was reduced from 10 points to six through an appeal process.

In a tight relegation battle, every point is critical, and contesting the penalty gives Everton a chance to mitigate the damage.

Additionally, an appeal demonstrates a commitment to rectifying mistakes and fighting for the club’s interests.

While addressing underlying issues of mismanagement is crucial in the long term, in the immediate context of the relegation battle, the Toffees must exhaust all available avenues to secure their top-flight status.
