Everton: Sean Dyche to take note of Harry Tyrer in pre-season post title-winning haul

Sean Dyche has no choice but to include Harry Tyrer in the pre-season squad for Everton after his recent exploits.

The 22-year-old clinched the National League title on 23 March with Chesterfield – ending their six-year stint in the fifth tier.

He made 47 appearances for them this season and recently told evertonfc just how delighted he was with their performance.

He said: “We’ve worked all season for it.

“It was a great win and a great end to the season. Good to get over the line.

“From minute one of pre-season, the fans were on my side and giving me a little song. The fans have been top class here.”

Sean Dyche surely will be thrilled and could give him a chance at Everton

Tyrer’s impressive loan spell at Chesterfield, culminating in their promotion to League Two, could catch the eye of Dyche during pre-season.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper showcased his talent by keeping 11 clean sheets in the National League, and demonstrated his shot-stopping abilities and composure under pressure.

His performances have not only earned praise from Chesterfield’s coaching staff but also highlighted his potential for a bright future in goalkeeping.

Dyche, known for his emphasis on defensive solidity, could see Tyrer as a valuable addition to Everton’s goalkeeping ranks.

Jordan Pickford could help him as well

With current first-choice goalkeeper Jordan Pickford performing exceptionally well, Tyrer could initially slot in as a second or third-choice goalkeeper and could learn things from the England number one.

His development under Dyche’s tutelage could further enhance his skills and maturity, providing the Toffees with a reliable backup option for the future.

Furthermore, Tyrer’s upbringing at Finch Farm and the club’s strong academy ties suggest a seamless integration into the first-team setup.

Dyche’s reputation for nurturing young talent and instilling a disciplined defensive mindset aligns with Tyrer’s attributes, making him a viable candidate for consideration during pre-season preparations.

Everton boss Sean Dyche
Sean Dyche’s Everton side have faced plenty of challenges both on and off the pitch this season.

Keeping Tyrer on as part of Everton’s squad could provide Dyche with added depth in the goalkeeping department while offering Tyrer a platform to continue his progression at his boyhood club.
