Everton: Amadou Onana update emerges via footage ahead of Chelsea clash amid injury concern

Everton star Amadou Onana has been spotted back in training ahead of the Premier League clash with Chelsea in brand new footage.

The Belgium midfielder was absent from the squad for the 1-0 win over Burnley last weekend, with the club announcing he was dealing with some knocks picked up in recent weeks.

But in new footage from Twitter account Benjwinst (11 April), the in-demand central midfielder can be seen in training with the rest of the squad, which suggests he could be set to return to the team for the clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday (15 April).

Amadou Onana could have Everton fitness boost for Chelsea clash

Everton finally snapped a run of 13 games without a win in the Premier League last week to move away from the relegation zone, only to then be dealt a two-point deduction to drag them right back in.

With seven games remaining in the season, Sean Dyche needs to have his best players available and able to perform to their best level and Onana is certainly in that conversation.

The 22-year-old has attracted interest from the likes of Bayern Munich and Barcelona ahead of the summer transfer window, and a player of that calibre is always able to lead a team in a scrap.

Chelsea’s form has been unbelievably inconsistent this season and Sean Dyche’s side have performed better away from Goodison Park this season, which will give them confidence.

Having the power and athleticism of Onana in midfield for the game will get Everton a better chance of success not only in this game, but also in games going forward, so it’s a huge boost for the team.
