Everton: Finance options may have dried up as new 777 Partners update emerges

Options for further financing at Everton may have dried up aside from 777 Partners, according to the Liverpool Echo, causing further concern about their takeover bid.

The newspaper shared via its website on 11 April that, aside from 777, there are very few financing options available to Everton as things stand amid doubts over the takeover process.

This is despite previous reports that alternative bidders have entered the frame to jump in should the ongoing takeover talks with 777 Partners fall through.

What is the latest on 777 Partners’ Everton takeover bid

The latest update surrounding the current takeover is that the group are struggling to raise the funds to pay off the club’s debts owed to MSP Sports Capital and have asked for an extension on the deadline given for repayment.

If 777 still provides the only option for financing at Goodison Park, as the Liverpool Echo reported, failure to complete their takeover of the club could prove to be an even bigger concern given the state of the club’s finances.

The group has pumped around £200million into the club since agreeing to the takeover in September 2023 to assist with day-to-day running costs, so should their funding and support disappear, Everton will find itself in a tricky situation.

It has also been hinted that Farhad Moshiri may have returned to the picture in recent weeks while the 777 talks have been ongoing with the Premier League, with the weight to fall upon his shoulders once more if no takeover emerges.

Ultimately, the club needs to be funded by somebody, or the very worst could happen, including administration which continues to be floated around.

Whether that funding comes from 777 or not remains to be seen, but as things stand, it appears alternative options have dried up.
