Everton: Timeline emerges for 777 Partners and MSP Sports Capital agreement amid £158m update
Prospective Everton owners, 777 Partners, and MSP Sports Capital may reach an agreement over the repayment of their £158million loan before Monday 15 April, according to i News.
The outlet reported on its website on Thursday (11 April) that the two parties are taking part in fresh talks after it was revealed that 777 had written to the Premier League to extend the deadline of their takeover at Goodison.
One of the four conditions that the prospective new owners on the blue half of Merseyside had to meet was the repayment of the majority of a £158million loan owed to MSP Capital, Andy Bell and George Downing.
Both the American firm and MSP are aware that the Toffees’ future is currently at stake and insiders have suggested both parties know that a deal needs to be reached one way or another.
While these sorts of deals do tend to go down to the wire, the suggestion from those close to the talks is that some clarity could even emerge over the repayment of the loan before the original deadline of Monday (15 April).
Will 777 Partners be able to complete their takeover of Everton?
It must feel like Groundhog Day for Everton supporters currently as each day there seems to be some sort of new drama at Goodison Park to set relegation fears back in motion among supporters.
Whether it be point deductions or other off-the-field matters, there haven’t been many dull days on Merseyside this term and a large part of that has been because of the constant uncertainty around 777’s takeover.
The American investment firm insists that it remains committed to getting this deal over the line, but new roadblocks seem to appear constantly to slow down the process and flow Dyche’s side into further uncertainty.
Hopefully, the insiders close to this deal who insist an agreement may be reached sooner rather than later so supporters can stop stressing about the future of their club. But 777’s history won’t fill many fans with confidence.
