Report shares how much Everton spent on agent fees in the 2023/24 season
Everton have spent £10.6m on agent fees during the 2023/24 season, the fifth lowest amount in the Premier League according to an official FA announcement.
The FA released the amounts spent by all 92 clubs in the Premier League and Football League on Friday (12 April), which revealed that the Toffees spent exactly £10,623,224 on agent fees between February 2023 and February 2024.
Only the three promoted clubs Luton, Burnley and Sheffield United plus Brentford spent less than the Toffes during that time, while Championship club Leeds United also spent more than them.
According to Sky Sports journalist Alan Myers, the figures also include payments due as part of existing contracts and are not just for new transfers.
Everton need new investment in the club and fast
The financial situation at the Toffees is an absolute state and the club are absolutely desperate for new investment from somewhere.
777 Partners are still trying to get authorisation from the Premier League to complete a takeover of the club from Farhad Moshiri, but even if it eventually goes through there are huge question marks about their financial state also.
The club also owe an incredible amount of money in debts and loans, and the only way the club will be able to start competing again is with fresh investment and an opportunity to start fresh.
That seems highly unlikely right now, even with reports there are some cash-rich people lurking in the background in case the deal with 777 Partners falls through.
Relegation could give the club a real problem for their long-term future, but if they stay up this will just be the same situation again in 12 months time as they can’t afford to invest and therefore will suffer on the pitch again. It’s a vicious cycle and they need help getting out of it.
