Troy Deeney predicts Chelsea v Everton scoreline at Stamford Bridge – ‘Blitz’

Former Watford and Birmingham striker Troy Deeney has predicted the result and scoreline of the Chelsea v Everton clash.

The Toffees travel south to take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday, 15 April, in the Premier League.

Deeney believes that it should be a one-sided game on paper, but despite the London club’s struggles, he backs them to beat the Toffees.

He said on his TikTok account: “It’s going to be a tight game. Chelsea should, on paper, blitz Everton, but I feel like a 2-1 is coming (to Chelsea). Everton will score from a corner.”

Everton must try for a draw v Chelsea

Chelsea have been struggling this season, even at home, as they’ve had issues breaking down teams and have dropped points against sides they would typically be expected to beat.

Their problems have been exacerbated by injuries, the integration of new players and changes throughout the campaign.

The Toffees, on the other hand, have shown resilience under Sean Dyche’s management, with their defensive organisation and ability to grind out results being key to their survival fight.

Dyche’s teams are known for being difficult to break down and they often rely on set pieces and counter-attacks to score goals.

Given Chelsea’s struggles and Everton’s compact defensive setup, the latter can certainly fancy their chances of at least securing a draw at Stamford Bridge.

Their ability to stay disciplined and compact could frustrate Chelsea, while capitalising on set-piece opportunities or counter-attacks could help Everton take something from the game.

In other Everton news, the third-party debt has now risen to over £500million as the Toffees have had to shell out an eight-figure payment as chaos ensues.
