Dominic Calvert-Lewin nowhere to be seen amid two changes – Everton confirmed XI v Chelsea
Sean Dyche has confirmed his Everton starting XI ahead of an important Premier League clash against Chelsea on Monday (15 April).
The manager has made two changes from the team that took a 1-0 victory against Burnley last time out, with Jordan Pickford remaining in between the sticks.
The back four is unchanged, with Seamus Coleman, James Tarkowski, Jarrad Branthwaite and Vitalii Mykolenko starting.
Amadou Onana comes back in the starting XI, with Andre Gomes dropping to the bench, forming a midfield partnership with James Garner.
Ashley Young and Dwight McNeil keep their spots in the lineup, supporting Beto after Dominic Calvert-Lewin misses out on the visit to Stamford Bridge through injury.
Everton confirmed their lineup via its official X account.
How important will Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s absence be for Everton?
Dyche will be hoping his side can pull off a shock against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, especially after a second points deduction hit at Goodison Park.
Due to the points deduction, Everton are just two points above Luton Town in the relegation zone, with Nottingham Forest taking them within a point after a 2-2 draw against Wolves.
Though the Merseyside club will be hoping to be handed points back after appealing against the punishment from the Premier League, Dyche will be keen to take their future into their own hands.
Calvert-Lewin could be a huge miss against Chelsea, with the forward recently rediscovering some form with goals versus Newcastle United and Burnley, helping the Toffees to four points in two games.
Without the striker, Dyche will need to depend on his other stars at Goodison Park, with Beto the only other player to score in Everton’s last five matches, netting against West Ham United and Bournemouth.
