Everton: Future of club at ‘huge risk’, Farhad Moshiri needs to wake up
Everton are facing the biggest risk in their history and “too few people” including Farhad Moshiri, are taking that threat seriously enough, according to The Esk.
Takeover talks between Moshiri and 777 Partners continue to hit stumbling blocks, and the finance expert on all things Everton, believes that in its current state, the club is not an “attractive proposition” for a third party to come in and rescue.
The Toffees have had a season from hell on and off the pitch, mired in a Premier League relegation battle following two separate points deductions totalling eight points, leaving them 16th and just a couple of points outside the bottom three.
The Esk shared an article on X, where he asked Moshiri and others to wake up, also writing: “The very future of our club is at huge risk, more so than at any time in our history, and in my opinion, too few people are taking that risk seriously.”
Everton at huge risk as takeover updates emerge at Goodison
15 April could be a defining day in Everton’s history, with potential new owners 777, still awaiting Premier League approval to complete their takeover, having been set a deadline to fulfil loan agreements to MSP Sport Capital.
Should they fail to meet these obligations, the American investment group’s ability to fund a Premier League club will be brought into question and cast significant doubt over them getting the green light.

The Toffees also face Chelsea, a club who’ve had to answer several financial questions of their own, with a chance to move five points clear of the relegation zone.
Had they not seen eight points wiped off the board for the financial chaos caused by Moshiri’s ownership, Everton would be well clear of the trapdoor and preparing for life in their new home from the start of next season.
Instead, the clock continues to tick on not only the potential takeover but the club as well.
