Everton appeal news: Deadline emerges against Premier League points deduction
Everton have lodged a formal appeal against their second Premier League points deduction, according to Giulia Bould.
The BBC journalist shared the news via her personal X account [15 April] and added that the appeals process must be concluded by 24 May.
That is five days after the Premier League campaign finishes, meaning it could cause uncertainty even after the final ball has been kicked.
The appeal regards the two-point penalty Everton were hit with last week.

Confirmation of Everton appealing the second points deduction is not in the slightest bit surprising. Nor is the date, which has been mooted for a while now.
If nothing else, though, it provides further clarity regarding the whole situation. We now know that Nottingham Forest and Everton could both have points given back.
Forest’s appeal will begin next week, potentially just a day after their trip to Goodison Park, and a verdict should be returned before the season ends.
There will be plenty of ifs and buts between now and 24 May, but Everton need to simply ensure they have enough points on the board for the outcome to not be imperative.
If they end the season in the relegation zone, with just one or two points in it, then every Evertonian will be refreshing their phones every 10 seconds come the day of the verdict.
Let’s just hope that is not the case, though, and on the basis of the last two results – four points from games with Newcastle United and Burnley – the Toffees will hopefully have enough to get over the line.
