Everton agree terms with goalkeeper as contract finalised at Goodison Park
Everton have confirmed that Harry Tyrer has signed a new one-year contract extension with the Toffees, to keep him at Goodison Park until 2026.
The Blues announced on their website on Wednesday (17 April) that the 22-year-old goalkeeper, who has been with the Toffees since the age of seven, has penned a new deal to extend his stay on Merseyside.
Tyrer has spent the season on loan with Chesterfield, keeping 11 clean sheets in 39 starts as the Spitfires won promotion to League Two from the National League, having previously impressed whilst on loan with Chester.
Everton secure new contract for Harry Tryer as Jordan Pickford comes under pressure at Goodison Park
The goalkeeping position at Goodison Park has become incredibly settled over the last few years, with Pickford one of the more consistent players in Sean Dyche’s side, barring a couple of shaky performances in recent weeks.
While it seems unlikely Tyrer will come straight into the first team fold having agreed to a new contract extension, it is good to see that those working behind the scenes are continuing to prepare the Toffees for the future.

Whether or not Pickford will still be at Goodison Park come the start of next season massively depends on whether or not the Blues do enough to keep their place in the Premier League. It’s unlikely England’s number one will want to play Championship football.
Joao Virginia is the backup option currently and in his brief cameos this term he has looked promising, but it is good that a homegrown option is now also available to Dyche. Hopefully, Tyrer will continue to go from strength to strength.
22 is no age for a goalkeeper and the boyhood Everton fan has a long future ahead of him. Hopefully, supporters will see him between the posts at Bramley Moor Dock in the future.
