Everton takeover: Farhad Moshiri set for fan talks over possible 777 Partners deal collapse

Everton fans have been assured that they will get a meeting with Farhad Moshiri in the coming weeks to hear about his intentions if 777 Partner’s takeover fails, i News reports.

According to the outlet’s website on 17 April the Toffees Fan Advisory Board (FAB) has been assured this week that a date will be put in the diary for them to discuss the ongoing delay with the club’s majority shareholder.

Moshiri led negotiations with MSP Sports Capital which secured 777 an extension to the deadline which was due Monday (15 April) for £158million in loans to be repaid, before attending the 6-0 thrashing at Stamford Bridge, but the FAB has warned that the takeover wait “cannot go on indefinitely”.

FAB secretary Julia Clarke said: “We have asked for it, we have chased it, we have been assured it’s going to happen and we’ve been assured in the last couple of days a date will be put in the diary.

“Fans feel like we’re in purgatory, being an Everton fan isn’t a happy place to be right now and it’s heartbreaking for people like me to see what is happening.

“The uncertainty is affecting everyone and while it’s not the reason why we lost the game on Monday night, it must be having an impact on the players. It really is in everyone’s interest that it is resolved as quickly as possible – which is why we’re urging all of the parties involved to come to a resolution.”

Everton uncertainty goes on after MSP deadline extended

Assuming the meeting which the FAB have been assured of does happen it could be a rare and crucial opportunity for Moshiri to be questioned about what his end game in this entire situation is, other than offering what have so far amounted to platitudes with regards to 777.

It goes without saying that his intention must be for the Miami-based firm to meet the requirements set by the Premier League and conclude the deal which was announced in September.

The ongoing stand-off between the Americans and the league sees them funding the club rather than Moshiri, but if they can’t get their bid over the line then it won’t be comfortable for him either.

Josh Wander and 777 Partners’ wait to complete the takeover of Everton goes on.

The past seven months have likely only increased doubts over their suitability if they haven’t come up with the funding to get the green light by now, and especially in light of their request for yet more time last week ahead of the deadline.

Administration remains a threat if 777 loans aren’t coming in any longer, at least until the transfer window opens and a fire sale becomes possible, and while it has been claimed that between Moshiri and the other creditors such an eventuality will be avoided there seems to be more assumptions flying around currently than concrete plans.

As things stand the general state of the club appears to be slowly getting worse, and certainly nothing is definitely improving it right now, while Moshiri’s own indications about what is due to happen have not come to pass.

So if the FAB can push him on it maybe they can get some vital answers for Evertonians.
