Everton takeover: Goodison Park sale claim emerges amid 777 Partners drama

The Esk claims that Goodison Park is not up for sale in any talks with 777 Partners surrounding the Everton takeover.

The Guardian reported on 18 April that the Miami-based firm are struggling to complete the takeover despite months of trying.

They have recently asked for help from a United States firm valued at north of £20billion, but regardless of the outcome, the club’s gone ground is not up for sale.

Via Twitter, Esk wrote: “Goodison is not for sale. It is to be used in the legacy redevelopment project, although how that is financed is unclear.”

Everton takeover is likely to see plenty of twists and turns

It’s a positive development that Goodison Park is not for sale, as it maintains the club’s historical identity and provides a sense of stability amidst the financial turmoil surrounding the Toffees.

The ground holds significant sentimental value for the fans, and its non-sale ensures that it will continue to be a part of the club’s legacy redevelopment project.

This decision also suggests that the club’s management is considering the long-term interests of the club and its supporters.

However, Everton fans have legitimate reasons to be sceptical about 777 Partners.

The Miami-based investment firm has struggled to complete the takeover of the club, despite months of trying.

This delay raises concerns about their ability to provide the necessary financial support to stabilise the club’s precarious financial situation.

Moreover, the involvement of additional investors has not yet resulted in a successful takeover, further fueling doubts about 777 Partners’ capacity to manage Everton’s financial challenges effectively.

The club’s financial situation leaves supporters with valid reasons to be sceptical about the future under the potential new owners.

In other Everton news, a senior player may never start for the club again after the Chelsea loss and is now very likely to leave in June.
