Everton takeover: Farhad Moshiri meets lawyers as 777 Partners, MSP twist emerges

Everton owner Farhad Moshiri briefly jetted to the United Kingdom from Monaco to meet his lawyers, according to the Athletic.

The news outlet reported on 19 April that the 777 Partners are yet to repay the MSP Sports Capital loan and are yet to satisfy any of the four conditions set out by the Premier League to complete the takeover.

At the same time, the Toffees’ dispute with the Premier League is continuing and a clearance sale may be needed to balance the books.

The best and worst case scenarios laid out for Everton

Everton fans find themselves in a state of confusion and uncertainty due to the prolonged and opaque takeover process involving 777 Partners.

The best-case scenario for the fans would be a swift and transparent resolution to the takeover, with 777 Partners successfully meeting the Premier League’s conditions, injecting the necessary funds and assuming control of the club.

This would provide the Toffees with financial stability, enable the completion of their new stadium and potentially improve the team’s performance on the pitch.

On the other hand, the worst-case scenario would be if the takeover falls through, leaving the club in a precarious financial situation, unable to repay loans and complete the stadium.

This could lead to further points deductions, financial penalties and even possible administration, pushing the club into a deeper crisis.

In this scenario, the club’s future in the Premier League would be at risk, and fans could face the prospect of relegation and a prolonged period of uncertainty.

Currently, the lack of clear communication and the delay in meeting the takeover conditions have left fans in the dark, exacerbating their concerns about the club’s future and it’s hard to predict when or what the next twist might be.

In other Everton news, a senior player may never start for the club again after the Chelsea loss and is now very likely to leave in June.
