‘Incredible’ Sean Dyche observation shared on Sky Sports ahead of Everton v Liverpool
Sky Sports reporter Juliette Ferrington has shared an “incredible” observation regarding Sean Dyche ahead of Everton versus Liverpool.
Dyche has been in charge of the Toffees for the past 15 months, yet Wednesday’s (24 April) Merseyside derby will be his first at Goodison Park.
The Toffees have lost both games against Liverpool during Dyche’s tenure, both of which came at Anfield – in February and October last year.
Speaking on Sky Sports News [23 April, 2:55pm] from outside Finch Farm, Ferrington said: “This is his first Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.
“That is incredible to think when you consider everything he has gone through as Everton manager in a short time he’s been here.
“The rivalry is there and this is of course Jurgen Klopp’s last Merseyside derby as Liverpool manager.”
Everton vs Liverpool head-to-head records
Those past two aforementioned fixtures with Liverpool at Anfield both finished in a 2-0 loss, with Mohamed Salah scoring three of the four goals.
The most recent encounter at Goodison Park was a goalless draw in September 2022, so this will be the first meeting there in 19 months.
Not that Everton fans need reminding, but they are without a win in their past 12 Premier League home games against Liverpool.
That is the longest-such run in the Toffees’ history and there is no better time to put it right than this week.

Three points would surely make certain of Premier League safety for another season, while at the same time denting Liverpool’s title hopes.
Goodison, as ever, will be bouncing on the back of the controversial victory over Nottingham Forest, the fallout from which rumbles on.
After so many disappointing results in this fixture in recent times, Dyche has a chance to put things right in his first home derby in charge.
