The Esk shares alternative Everton takeover update as £200m 777 Partners development emerges
Alternative parties other than 777 Partners still remain interested in completing a takeover of Everton at Goodison Park, according to The Esk.
The Miami-based firm is still waiting for Premier League approval to complete its acquisition of Farhad Moshiri’s controlling stake in the Toffees and have now provided more than £200million worth of financial support [Sky Sports, 23 April].
Sources close to Moshiri insist that he is committed to securing a deal with 777 Partners rather than alternative parties but Everton financial expert, The Esk, insists other parties would still like to acquire the Toffees.
Responding to a fan on X (23 April) who asked: “Do you think anyone else is looking to buy the club?”, he said: “Yes mate, there always has been.”
Will 777 Partners complete their takeover of Everton at Goodison Park?
It has been clear for some time now that it has been Moshiri’s decision to only exclusively negotiate a takeover with 777 Partners rather than any other potential buyers, despite there being interest from further afield.
There has been little in the American firms’ work so far to suggest that they would be the perfect owners for the Toffees, with several of their other businesses around the globe struggling financially or coming under fire.
It would seemingly make sense for all parties if somebody else took over proceedings at Goodison Park as 777 doesn’t seem to have the financial power to complete their takeover, let alone run the Toffees sensibly and effectively.
Hopefully, some clarity will emerge on Merseyside sooner rather than later as this much uncertainty cannot be good for the long-term financial future of the football club. Something has to change and hopefully, Moshiri will see sense.
Alternative investors are the best solution for all parties both from a financial perspective and a footballing one.
