Sky Sports footage shows Luke Littler mocking Liverpool fans after Everton defeat
Darts star Luke Littler had a message for Everton fans as Liverpool hosted the Premier League Darts, displaying a hand gesture referencing their 2-0 victory at Goodison Park.
The 17-year-old made his walkout onto the oche by displaying two fingers on one hand and holding up a fist with the other, reminding and mocking Liverpool fans after their defeat to Everton on 24 April.
Everton scored a goal in each half to defeat their arch-rivals 2-0 amidst a bearpit-like atmosphere, and won a Merseyside derby at Goodison Park for the first time since 2010.
Everton’s own account on X was paying close attention to Littler’s walkout, posting: “Luke Littler knows the score at Premier League Darts Liverpool!”
Everton edging closer to Premier League survival after derby win
Everton have been through the wringer this season, being met with two separate points deductions and embarking on a 13-game winless run, which left fans fearing the worst.
However, their 2-0 victory over rivals Liverpool was their third in a row at Goodison Park, all coming with clean sheets, and made it three wins from the club’s last four matches in total.
That’s the kind of form Sean Dyche’s side need to keep up if they’re to avoid relegation this season, and having moved eight points clear of the drop zone with their defeat of Liverpool, the Toffees are not far away from confirming their Premier League status.
The club may have received several celebrity endorsements in recent days, and with a drawn-out takeover rumbling on in the background, the most important thing for Everton at the moment is results on the pitch.
And Dyche’s side are certainly delivering on that front.
In other Everton news, a senior Toffees player may never feature for the club again and looks likely to leave in the summer.
