Everton insider accuses Premier League and PGMOL of secrecy after what happened on Wednesday

Bryan King has accused the Premier League and PGMOL of secrecy after an update on the VAR controversy surrounding Nottingham Forest and Everton.

The ex-Everton scout believes supporters are just as entitled as clubs to hear any VAR audio which is released.

It comes after a report via The Independent (24 April) revealed that Forest had accepted an offer from the PGMOL to privately listen to the VAR audio from their 2-0 defeat against Everton at Goodison Park (21 April).

And King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – has questioned why the offer is currently private.

“Supporters pay good money to watch their football teams play, so if clubs are entitled to hear the VAR audio, why aren’t the fans?” King said.

“Is it a secret? If so what is the secret? We know that there has been a complaint, and we know that there were three key incidents.

“So who is it trying to cover their tracks? Is it Stuart Attwell and the VAR team, PGMOL, or perhaps the Premier League?”

Everton and Nottingham Forest won’t be on the best of terms with the Premier League

It seems almost fitting that this controversy arrived in a game between Everton and Forest, two teams who have had the most drama with the Premier League this season.

After the points deductions which have been handed out, whether justifiable or not, it is understandable that both clubs’ supporters might be very sceptical at the moment.

Everton supporters will be desperate for a takeover to go through at Goodison Park

Therefore, this private offer will only increase levels of suspicion at Goodison Park and the City Ground.

In other Everton news, King was delighted by what he saw from supporters at Goodison Park in the win over Liverpool.
