Everton transfer news as Che Adams deal on cards with free agents targeted
Everton are targeting a deal to sign Southampton striker Che Adams this summer as the club will look to sign free agents, according to i news.
The news outlet reported on 29 April that Everton are one of several clubs looking to sign the Scottish international when he becomes available upon the expiry of his deal at St Mary’s.
Hull City defender Jacob Greaves was also tipped as one player the Toffees would target when the transfer window opens, as he has been linked with the move previously.
Everton want to sign Che Adams from Southampton this summer
Adams was heavily linked with a move to Goodison Park throughout last summer’s transfer window, but the club was not able to land their key target, opting to sign Beto in his place, but their interest in the Scotsman appears to have stuck.
It had previously been reported that the Toffees could miss out on Adams amid interest from Wolves as the midlands side are leading the race against relegation-threatened clubs with uncertainty surrounding Goodison Park.
Adams has scored 16 goals in 39 games this season for Southampton as they look to win promotion at the first time of asking, although that would have to come via the playoffs, despite not being the club’s first-choice option.

While not an especially sparking goal record, the forward has six goals in his last eight Championship games and has stepped up his performances with multiple suitors picking up their interest ahead of a race for his signature.
In other Everton news, Manchester United could sign Jarrad Branthwaite.
